‘That Girl’ Hairstyles by Tiktoker @Stxph.h

2022 is the year we’re finally going to master the ‘that girl’ look. If there’s one part that we struggle it, it’s the hair. That’s where TikTok comes in. It’s never been easier to learn how to create a celebrity-worthy hairstyle than with TikTok. We’ve search high and low across our favourite video sharing app to find the ultimate hair tutorial to share with you.

That’s how we landed on Steph Hui’s video. If you want to create the “that girl” look, she’s got you covered. Her quick TikTok video on easy hairstyles for the “clean and expensive” look offers something for everyone – whatever your personal style. It’s packed full of hairstyles you could imagine Zendaya, Kendall Jenner, or Bella Hadid rocking.

Read on to find out more about these easy hairstyles that look “clean and expensive” – and how you can recreate them at home. These three hairstyles are ones we’ll be rocking all of spring/summer 2022.

Middle part sleek updo

The first hairstyle that Steph shares is also one of the easiest to recreate at home. It’s the classic ‘off-duty’ supermodel chic look that you can wear for a lazy day or running errands.

The trick to creating this look is by getting your hair wet. You want to pick up an inexpensive spray bottle that you fill with water to quickly damp your hair. You only need a few sprays to get your hair wet enough for this look.

Pull your hair back into a seek bun, making sure that you focus on your middle parting. It usually helps to use a brush with denser bristles to flatten your hair and make your middle parting stand out.

The sleekness for this look comes from using ponytail. Take a generous amount in your hands before applying it directly to your hair, working backwards to flatten any lumps or bumps.

Pull out a small strand of hair from each side of your hair. Ideally, this hair should fall around lip-length, but it’ll depend on the length of the layers in your hair. Take a little bit of hair gel to emphasis the shape of the loose strands.

You can use a hair claw to twist your ponytail into a bun for an effortlessly chic look. This clean and expensive hairstyle works for both short and long-hair, so long as you can get it into the hair claw.

Sleek long braided ponytail

This hairstyle is Sansa Stark meets Ariana Grande. Start by brushing your hair back into a ponytail with a middle part. While Steph uses a ponytail hair piece in this video, it’s an optional extra to add extra length and thickness to your hair. You can skip it if you prefer a more natural and easier look.

Start braiding your hair into a traditional 3-part braid French plait. You can add a little extra to your hair by finishing off the braid with a scrunchie or by placing a statement hair clip into your hair.

This hairstyle is best for long hair as you’ll have the freedom to create a more dramatic braid.

Side part sleek updo

Embrace your inner supermodel chic with this side-part sleek updo. This hairstyle is ideal for days when you don’t have time to blowdry your hair. Take your wet hair and section out the side part, holding it in place with a large hair clip.

Brush the rest of your hair in place and create a ponytail. Use the same L’Oreal hair gel from before to give you a sleek look by removing any bumps and flattening your hair – it also helps to add an extra touch of shine to your hair.

Remove the hair clip from your side parting and take a small bristle brush to brush-out your fringe, bringing it down behind the back of your ear. You can use a bobby pin to hold it in place before adding an extra touch of hair gel to keep it looking sleek.

You can leave your hair in a ponytail or give the hairstyle a ‘90s-inspired look by adding a statement hair claw. You want to wrap your ponytail around your finger to create a bun before securing it in place with the hair claw. Play around with the excess hair until you have several strands sticking out from the top of the hair claw to give the illusion of curls.
