4 Zoom Makeup Tips to Help Elevate Your Look Instantly

For better or worse, Zoom has become a fixture in our day-to-day lives at least for the foreseeable future. This puts us in a weird position because on one hand, we are at home lounging around all day and the last thing we feel like doing is putting on makeup. But on the other hand, we want to present our best self, even if it is via Zoom! Whether you have an important meeting, a job interview or maybe even a Zoom date, you want your makeup to translate virtually. The good news, it doesn’t mean you have to overdo your look or pile on the makeup, just a few tweaks can make a huge difference. Check out some of our favorite tips below to help you look amazing, even via Zoom!

Sculpted Brows

A sculpted brow is honestly always a good idea. Even if you aren’t wearing any other makeup, your brows help to frame your face and give it a nice even look. You don’t even need to do too much as we are seeing a softer brow becoming more popular. However, you definitely should do something with your eyebrows, whether it is just brushing them through with a spoolie and defining with a bit of concealer or taking your brow product of choice and doing your entire brow routine (and if you don’t have one, click on this link!). Either way, a nice brow is the perfect fix for your Zoom-makeup dilemmas.

Dramatic Lip

If you aren’t one to wear bold lip colors, now is the perfect time to give it a try! You aren’t actually going anywhere so if you don’t like it, at least you’ve only been seen wearing it virtually! But we are pretty sure you’re going to fall in love with this look. The bold color will make a huge statement and it’s also a fun way to boost your mood. There aren’t any rules to this either—if you feel like trying out a new lip color every day of the week then go right ahead (In our opinion, a bright, matte red lip is always a good place to start!)

Mascara (but no liner)

For those big, beautiful doe eyes that catch the light, even via a compture webcam, mascara is your best friend. Choose a fairly neutral shadow as your base, and then amp up the mascara! A few coats of your favorite lash product will really make a big difference in your Zoom makeup look. And while it may be tempting, skip the eyeliner this time. Eyeliner can sometimes make your eyes look smaller and what you want is to give that wide-eyed look that really draws the viewer in (and makes you look more awake in case you were up bingeing Netflix all night)

Sunkissed skin

Sure we might be indoors a lot more right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t embrace beautiful, luminous skin. There’s no need t use foundation if you aren’t in the mood (and to be honest, who is these days?) A tinted moisturizer will suffice, a it adds both moisture and some color to your skin. Then play around with your favorite highlighter—dust it across your cheekbones, nose bridge and even around the perimeter of your face. This is sure to add a gentle glow to you skin that will completely translate over Zoom.
